Owner's Corner:

Thank you for being here.  My name is Kelly Hunter, and in some capacity, I have been right where you are in this moment!!  There are many, many layers to me, and I am open to sharing some of my story to encourage you.

I am a Christian woman, a mother, a loving grandmother, and a truly unbiased friend.  Due to my own spiritual conviction and there not being any self-defense laws in Indiana, I was incarcerated from 2007 to 2010 from accepting a felonious guilty plea for involuntary manslaughter at the advisement of a public defender.  I lost my mom in 2007, while in jail, awaiting sentencing.  After serving time, I relocated to a new city, enrolled in college, and gained employment.  I faced numerous rejections due to my felony, but I kept applying, and thankfully, doors began to open.  At one point, I was working 3 jobs while pursuing my college degrees full-time.  I prayed for direction and was blessed to meet people in my life who could see potential in me and provide suggestions I followed up on to circumvent what looked like a mountain of rejections and hardships.  I had to keep going to show my children that even in the face of adversity, you will find strength in prayer and persistence!!  While working full- and part-time positions in corrections and at a nonprofit, in 2015, I lost my right leg from a fall at home.  I could have been angry, but I chose to accept what was and decided to look to God and say, "Why not me?" instead of "Why me?!!"  I am a right above-knee amputee (RAKA) who found the strength to keep going at a most difficult time in my life!  In 2019, I lost my dad to pneumonia and stage 4 lung cancer.  Life throws us unexpected blows, and it has not been easy at all; however, I find that my faith will always sustain me!  I have people in my life, outside of my kiddos and family, who were good, supportive people that cared and motivated me to keep on Becoming!  As I Become, I want to help you BECOME!  Let's work together here at M.Y.N.D. and Mend Your Needs Directly!
